Winter decorating this time of year is all about comfort and cozy. For me, the holidays bring joy. The soft lighting, the dark green and cranberry colors that adorn wreaths, trees, and décor. Decorating your home with the comforts of seasonal foliage allows us to bring the outside in. Botanicals used as backdrops or hanging on a wall is an easy and inexpensive way to layer a seasonal look.
I love the romance and magic that surrounds the Mistletoe. It is associated with Christmas as a decoration, under which lovers are expected to kiss. I have a sprig of it hanging in my home every Christmas, who doesn’t love extra kisses. Feel free to click on the Mistletoe 8 x 10 below and save to your device.
This image of the Red Berry Sprig sings winter to me. It is simple, but pleasing to the eye. It feeds our winter birds as the cold weather grabs hold. It also reminds me of the rich jewel tones of the season. Feel free to click on the Red Berry Sprig 8 x 10 below and save to your device.
I hope you enjoy these seasonal graphics and they add a bit of seasonal joy to your home or craft projects.
Lights are twinkling, snow is falling, blanketing the ground in glittery white, at least where I live. The hustle and bustle will soon be calmed by everyone coming together in their own traditions. Each is unique and special, reminding us it’s the time of year for reflecting and setting goals. It’s also the perfect opportunity to make changes around the home, maybe even personal and professional ones.
I love the family time between Christmas and New Year, it’s like hitting the reset button. It’s also the time I take to reflect on the improvements I need to make. I have always feared judgment, it’s often hard for me to not be guarded. This is an improvement I need to make in 2018. My creativity suffers because of this and I plan on changing this. Perhaps creative therapy 🌞
I have been so inspired by many of you. You know who you are, I read and comment on your blogs daily. Thank you for making this community so much fun. You put magic into everyday life with your stories and projects. Inspiration is key to a peaceful soul. All of you have been a blessing beyond words and the talent out there is spectacular.
I wish all of you the most glorious holiday season and many blessings 🎄🎉
It’s officially the start of the holiday season! I hope all of you that celebrate Thanksgiving, had a very blessed day. We had a wonderful holiday with family, of course we ate way too much. My mom sent us home with my favorite Christmas cookies. We have been busy cleaning out gardens before they go to sleep beneath feet of snow, and decorating for Christmas. I will share some more of our holiday decor here later this week and on Instagram.
With the holiday season upon us, I wanted some festive planner stickers for my bullet/holiday planner. These are great to use for planners, bullet journals, calendars, cards, and crafts. Please feel free to use this digital collage sheet, The Twelve Days of Christmas, for personal use. They print out on (1) 8.5 x 11 inch paper, but this PDF can easily be modified to your paper size of choice.
I LOVE ephemera! Actually any vintage graphic that I can add to or modify by sketching or correcting. Restoring anything vintage is what I love to do (as long as it is public domain).
Ephemera are items designed to be useful or important for only a short time, especially pamphlets, notices, tickets, etc. They are now widely used in art journals, printables, atc’s, cards, etc. The typography is beautiful and usually needs a little love, but it is worth the time to restore.
I have been making Christmas paper for Lismore Paper. I especially love the holidays, but have set aside some great little treasures for Valentine’s Day. It’s hard to not lose track of what holiday your supposed to be concentrating on. 🙂
To kick off the holiday season, I am posting this Christmas Paper made by Lismore Paper Co. Vintage ephemera can have a slight blur to it from the printing process back then, but it is still so beautiful and when you add countless layers of paper with it, the image blooms into something new.
The Sugar Plum Fairy has arrived. I am ready for the days to be filled with the magic of the season sprinkled with aspirations and dreams of the New Year. Having a warm feeling in my home inspires me to create. Its amazing what the soft light does for the heart and soul. The sugar plums are officially dancing in my head.
There is new art at PenPaperandPetalsStudio.com please stop by for a visit. I hope everyone has a wonderful and magical week preparing for the ones they love. Celebrate the joy!
